Venice Shorts of LA Reveals Seasonal Winners

Venice Shorts of Los Angeles is an annual event featuring live screenings of short films from all genres in various LA venues, including the Fine Arts Theatre. It also acknowledges and promotes short films through an IMDb-qualifying seasonal competition in collaboration with the LA Indies magazine committee. The recognition and promotion of the power of short filmmaking are crucial for Venice Shorts.

The festival's alumni include Oscar winners and nominees like Gus Van Sant, Jeremy Irons, Eric Roberts, Ross Kauffman, and Jessica Chastain. The festival seeks to discover indie film projects and also encourages established industry figures to engage in short film creation as producers, directors, actors, and writers. Venice Shorts has showcased renowned film industry figures alongside emerging U.S. and international talents.

“Venice Beach’s inception in 1905 was perfectly timed for Hollywood. Abbot Kinney’s “Fantasy By The Sea” was just beginning as the burgeoning movie industry moved to California for its year-round sunshine. Over the next century, Hollywood’s connection with Venice would bring entertainment to millions worldwide. It is our pleasure to announce the seasonal winners of the Venice Shorts.
